Who: Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) – Chicago, Lincoln Park Chapter, has teamed up with another HLAA chapter known as the Illinois Cochlear Implant Club (ICIC) and a chapter of a related organization, the Association of Late Deafened Adults - Chicago (ALDA-C) to recruit a special presenter this spring.
What: Sam Trychin, PhD, will present "Living Well with Hearing Loss; What Works and What Doesn't". Dr. Trychin is a psychologist, educator, and author who lives with hearing loss and focuses on hearing loss issues professionally in a very insightful and entertaining manner.

Why:
1. to convene special interest groups that focus on hearing loss across Northern Illinois under one roof
2. to participate in a very engaging presentation with a well-respected individual who shares personal and professional perspectives on hearing loss
3. to serve as a networking opportunity for those who are hard-of-hearing and/or deaf
4. to initiate a periodic gathering of individuals with hearing loss across the state or region

ASSISTIVE LISTENING MAY BE LIMITED TO A FIRST COME, FIRST-SERVE BASIS (UNLESS A HEARING LOOP IS ARRANGED). IN EITHER EVENT, MAKE SURE YOUR TELECOIL IS PROGRAMMED AND ACCESSIBLE IN YOUR HEARING AID(S) AND/OR COCHLEAR IMPLANT(S).
